October General Meeting Minutes

• Old Business –Recap - President report – Financial Update
  • Kona Ice – very profitable and helps with operating budget; October will be served next Thursday
  • Operating budget is currently 11,000 including Read-a-thon to donations to date; 10% of Read-a-thon to be given to charity
  • Still seeking corporate sponsors – circle back to all of our leads; Code Ninja is going to join as a sponsor with level to be determined and also offer a percentage back as part of a refereral program

• Fundraising – Read A Thon – President & Group
  • We will not be reaching our initial goal, but we are on par with last year’s coupon book fundraiser
  • 10% is to be given to charity and it was decided that it should be donated to Mr. Donnelly’s transplant fund
  • Discussed moving Read-a-thon to earlier in September with kick off at meet the teacher nights as possibilities to grab more attention and increase participation
  • Book Fair – Group
  • Book fair wrapping up today and Mrs. Nees is very pleased
  • Proceeds will be going directly to media center needs

• Veteran’s Breakfast
  • PTO runs the breakfast for veterans and their guests after the school wide assembly; board members will serve at the reception
  • Jillian and Michelle to shop; Chick fil-a trays have been ordered
• New Business – Open Floor
  • Upcoming Staff Appreciation
    • Thankful for you breakfast – 11/25; admins. to coordinate
    • Holiday Luncheon – 12/11; Jen to create and send out sign up
    • Snack cart – 12/18 with special stocking treats
    • Coffee Truck scheduled to 1/17 workday
  • 8^th Grade Dance – to be discussed next month
  • Spirit Wear Order – Open up form on website in November for holiday orders – cut off on 11/25
  • Fundraiser for Mr. Donnelly – BBQ take out tentatively scheduled for Friday, January 24; Becky to reach out to catering contact who can handle pork and sides
  • Checkers Spirit Night – November 11
    • Needs to be promoted on facebook and in newsletter – Jen to manage
    • Kendra to buy tickets for 40 chorus members who will perform
• Principal Report – Grey Young
  • Year is going well
