AN ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE BOARD
Hello PKMS Families!
PTO misses you all and hope this note finds you all Healthy!!
As we start to wrap up this "unique" school year we have some PTO information to share with you all.
It's Teacher Appreciation Week!! Our PKMS Teachers and Support Staff are 1st Class! In the past, we have asked PKMS families to support our efforts to treat the staff with donations of $10 gift cards and/or food items for teacher breakfast, lunch, and snacks during appreciation week, and families have always responded generously. Obviously, this year we have to think a bit outside of the box to celebrate our staff.
This was the first year we partnered with Kona Ice Fort Mill to fundraise for teacher appreciation throughout the year. To our families who participated in Kona Ice this school year, Thank You in advance. This was a very successful way to raise some money for teacher appreciation and our students got to enjoy the tasty Kona Ice monthly. As you are aware, the fundraiser was paid for at the beginning of the year and there is a balance of $12 per student that participated for the Kona Ice they did not receive in March April, and May. The PTO Board discussed best practice for this remaining money to honor our teachers on this very special week as well as help support our community friend/vendor Kona Ice. The plan is to use half of the remaining money to provide gift cards to our teachers and staff this week. We know times are tough for everyone so we will not be asking parents for additional donations as we have in the past years for appreciation week. The other half of the money would be used to pre-pay our community vendor, Kona Ice, for teacher appreciation services for next year in an effort to help sustain his business now so we can continue our partnership next year and beyond.
As always, if any family has questions about this plan or would like to contact the PTO about a refund please email email@example.com and we will process it immediately.
If there are any PKMS families who didn't participate in Kona Ice that would like to make a donation for staff appreciation, please reach out as well to the email above.
As always PKMS PTO Board appreciates our Knighthawk Family!

We are blown away by this community's generosity! Thank you very much for making the BBQ fundraiser for Mr. Donnelly a huge success! The event raised over $5000 for Mr. Donnelly's transplant fund.
